decent comedy, decent (but a bit too simple) individual cases, the macro narrative resolution is Stupid and mundane. feels compulsory in many ways, a vehicle, with nice overtures but lacking depth. a puzzle show for people who don't like puzzles: infrequently is the information given to where the viewer can start to dig into one of the puzzles for themselves before david mitchell just explains the whole thing. meh.
