Oshi no Ko season 2 thoughts
Awesome show, awesome season, great direction. Even the 'basically just dialogue' episodes like the last 2 are tensioned in a smart way, and the ED (which was confusing to me throughout the season) paid off. The OP and ED music is fucking great, too; the "anata dake" line with Ai dancing is a really good bittersweet setting with the shots of the in-on-it characters sitting in audience seats full of ennui, and the dissonant, rowdy guitar & drums that lead the ED are a great signal of the end. This is an anime that really shows off how the intro & outro of a show serve as an induction ritual for the world, and prime the audience after the (presumed) one week since the preceding episode.
Another one where I'm thinking of reading the manga now to get more of the thing... ugh... already did it with Dungeon Meshi earlier this year. I love the underlying revenge plot murder mystery!!! Good anime. Next up is Sound! Euphonium season 3 which I missed while it was airing a few months ago, wowie.
