Taskmaster UK series 10 rewatch scores (& thoughts on series 18 so far)
Series 10 Rewatch
Really good series. Better than I've ever given it credit, honestly, with a caveat which is that Greg really carries this series with his conversational prowess. He is so good at incising into contestant attempts and psychology and it buoys the whole series, which otherwise (as the first COVID series with no audience in studio) would have been just weird. But god, he's so funny, and it makes the entire studio laugh, and it makes everything better. Johnny Vegas is also so goddamn funny in every shot, just an old teddy bear of a man. A lot of the location tasks are still really whatever ("5 Doors" is one of the worst tasks of all time IMHO because of the time restrictions), but I got over it.
Top 3 tasks: Silently make a cocktail (one of the GOATs), Bag something in a christmas tree bagging portal from the furthest distance, Work out how many balls are in the basket. Honorable mention to Neatly hang the mannequin's clothes on the line.
Series 18 so far
I like it quite a bit. I was nervous about Rosie, because of my own neuroses about being perceived as a disabled woman, really but she's been doing excellently. I saw a lot of people complaining on reddit about the tasks being lackluster in episode 2, and I kind of agree, but if the attempts are funny then it doesn't matter, and the attempts were really funny for me (also I like a rote memorization task, sue me). I really like Jack Dee so far as well. Him and Rosie are like, very much two sides of me.
