the new best destiny 2 dungeon
I keep accidentally calling this dungeon a raid, and it deserves it. The mechanics are developed and remixed magnificently, the pacing is great, the DPS phases are novel - this is the thorough, focused Destiny I love.
There's maybe one too many instakills in the final encounter, I do like that the arc is lethal on normal mode but the visual feedback of where it spawns needed 1 more notch of readability. On contest that lack of visual feedback was literally the only major flaw I think the experience had. I was worried about 'reskinned DSC stuff again' especially since the previous Operation Seraph's Shield was one of my least favorite experiences in the game, but they did not repeat that error.
Also, not new for contemporary Destiny, but the voice direction and writing/editing is really missing a level of polish. The aesthetic direction of the final boss's face is a little immature for Destiny standards as well, but not that bad, and I'm kind of just expecting that to continue as we see the aftershocks of business and capital tearing apart the studio. But man, they still got it for now.
